Serving as a space to bring together humanities projects about and situated in Africa, the assemblage of projects under this umbrella include fifteen collections ranging from Ajami in the Senegambia to the African Online Digital Library to several South African Projects, one about overcoming apartheid, another about film and video in Africa, and finally a site about African oral history with material from both South Africa and Ghana. With a broad range of offerings from pedagogically focused material about the African continent to scholarly journals, the African Online Digital Library provides a jumping off point to explore many of the cultural heritage offerings of Africa.

Housed at Michigan State University by the African Studies Center and facilitated by (MATRIX)[http://www2.matrix.msu.edu/]’s digital expertise, the site is partnered with organizations in Africa to develop its holdings.
